The Chicago Bears’ Sunday 19-7 exhibition game triumph over the Tennessee Titans was far from a happy ending.
The team’s top receiver last season, Cameron Meredith, suffered an injury to his left knee, ultimately tearing his ACL. After a low dive from Titans safety Johnathan Cyprien, Meredith’s knee twisted in a gruesome fashion.
Meredith’s apparent injury contributes to the increasingly dire Receiver situation on the Chicago Bears. As a result of the injury, an increased amount of pressure is being put on the team’s other receivers to step up and fill the gap.
Kevin White, a former top-10 pick, has appeared in only four regular-season games since 2015. It is up to receivers like him and others on the team to work harder and stabilize the situation in light of Meredith’s absence.
